The obsessive love that a man has for a woman in a coma—a woman he never met—is both touchingly sweet and skin-crawlingly unsettling. It is hard for the viewer to decide if he is romantic or insane, even though it seems like it should be obvious from the description. I really liked that subtlety...nothing is spelled out. Even the main characters seem unsure of how they feel about what is going on.
The ending is brilliant. It manages to convey the horror of the situation, while still offering a ray of hope to those that deserve it the most. While a tragic story, there is also a great deal of beauty. A thoughtful, lovely story.
